Soccer

In this face off between the freshmen and sophomores, the soccer game is played on the practice fields and is a heated match between classes. The grade that wins receives higher points added to their score, and of course, bragging rights.

Powder Puff

Powder puff is one of the most anticipated events of the entire homecoming week. Junior and Senior girls face off with Varsity football players as their coaches. Whichever grade triumphs, they receive up to 100 points added to their overall score for the week. This truly is a battle between the grades like no other.

Video Game Tournament

The video game tournament is one of our newer homecoming activities, where students compete in a series of different video games in an attempt to win more points for their class!

The Class Games

This is a battle between the class that is held in the gym and is a series of relays that your class representatives try to win. With everything from Tug of War to Bunk beds, Battle of the Classes gets loud and competitive. The winning class receives huge bragging rights and the most points added to their total Homecoming score for the week.

BINGO

Added during the 2023 Homecoming, BINGO has become a student favorite. 25 students from each class are able to participate. Each student receives 1 BINGO card. There are several rounds of BINGO. The class with the most BINGOs will earn 1st place. 2nd-4th place will be rewarded as well.

Talent Show

Students and Faculty audition at the beginning of the week to showcase their talents in the Homecoming Talent Show. The talent show is a mixture of all grades, ages, and talents, and is a wonderful display of the talented people found at Oak Mountain.

Homecoming Pep Rally

Held the afternoon of the Friday of the game, the Homecoming Pep Rally gets loud and exciting as the whole school cheers on our football team who will play the Homecoming game later that night! We also have one final round of Battle of the Classes.

Basketball Tournament

This competition is for grades 9-12. This competition will be on Friday, Oct 17thin the Main Gym. The order of the tournament will be Seniors/Sophomores then Freshman/Juniors. Each class will have a total of 1 hr and 30 minutes playing time to determine the winners of each group. 2-point shots will count as 1 point and 3-point shots will count as 2 points. The first team to score 7 points will be the winner. (8 minute time limit)Winners of each grade will play in the semi-final game. The first team to score 11 points will be the winner. (12 minute time limit)Winners of each grade level will play in the championship game. The championship game will be full-court. The grade level winner will receive 50 pts and a chance to play against the faculty. IF they win against the faculty, they will earn 25 bonus points. 2nd place will receive 25 pts.
